Profile of System
Shreveport contracts with Shreveport Transit Management, Inc. for the operation of the Shreveport Area Transportation System (SPORTRAN). 27 scheduled fixed day routes and 14 fixed night routes provide service for Shreveport and Bossier City. All buses providing fixed route service are ADA accessible. A demand response paratransit service is also operated which is called the Lift Line. Persons unable to access the fixed route system because of disabilities are eligible for this service. An application must be made to SPORTRAN for this service. When qualified, a client must schedule service 24 hours in advance.
