Profile of System
The City of Lafayette transit systems provides transit service to Lafayette Parish. Twelve routes provide scheduled service to within the city of Lafayette. The transit system operates 13 buses daily (Monday through Saturday). The total fleet size is 23 35-foot low floor buses, all of which are lift or ramp equipped. The fleet is composed of diesel buses (16 buses) and compressed natural gas buses (7 buses). ADA complimentary paratransit service is provided via a vendor service contract with Acadiana Transit System. The vendor provides 5 ada accessible buses to be in service at times of fixed-route service. Users of the paratransit service must fill out an application to qualify for service. Service is demand response and must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Same day scheduled service is available on a limited basis.
