St. Mary Parish Public Transit (SMPPT) began operation in 1977 with demand response services within St. Mary Parish.We have expanded medical transportation to Iberia Parish and Terrebonne Parish.

Trips within the service area provide access to medical facilities, businesses, work sites, shopping, nutrition sites, the senior center, social service agencies, community activities, and dialysis centers.

St. Mary Parish Public Transit is the only transportation service within the parish that has lift-equipped vehicles that serve the general public.
