Profile of System
The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) provides multimodal public transportation throughout Orleans Parish, including five streetcar lines, 30 bus routes, two ferry routes, and ADA-compliant paratransit services. The agency moves approximately 15 million passengers annually across its system.

All RTA buses and most streetcar lines are fully ADA-accessible, equipped with ramps or lifts, securement areas, and visual and audio stop announcements. The Canal and Riverfront streetcars meet full ADA standards, and the historic St. Charles Avenue Streetcar—founded in 1835 and the longest continuously operating streetcar line in the country—runs ADA-equipped vehicles hourly on a modified platform system.

RTA also operates the Kenner Loop (Route 201), connecting the City of Kenner and Louis Armstrong International Airport to New Orleans, with transfer access to Jefferson Transit. For riders with disabilities who cannot access fixed-route services, door-to-door paratransit service is available by reservation for certified riders.

Committed to accessibility, equity, and efficiency, RTA continues to invest in a modern, inclusive transit system for the people of Greater New Orleans. For more information or to plan a trip, visit www.norta.com or call Rideline at 504-248-3900. For information on Paratransit Services, call 504-827-7433.
