WEEKDAY CLOSURES

Contractors working for DOTD will begin construction of the LA 939 & LA 940 Rehabilitation Project on January 19, 2016. This $1.9 million dollar project will consist of grading, drainage structures, cold planing asphaltic concrete, in-place cement treated base course, asphaltic surface treatment, superpave asphaltic concrete pavement, and related work. The project limits for LA 939 is from the intersection of LA 44 & LA 939 to the Bayou Francois Bridge. The project limits for LA 940 is from the Gonzales City Limits to the intersection of LA 940 & LA 44. The total length of both roads are 2.255 miles, and both projects are scheduled to be completed in late April, 2016 weather permitting.

There will be daily alternating lane closures while crews perform the associated work for the duration of the project. One lane of traffic will remain open at all times. Through and local traffic will be maintained in both directions. No oversized loads greater than 10’ wide will be allowed through the construction zone during lane closures. Lane closure and work hour restrictions are as follows:

• Lane closures will not be permitted on LA 939 or LA 940 Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:45-7:45 am and 2:00-3:00 pm.
