DOTD announces LA 182 overlay project in Terrebonne Parish

HOUMA, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the start of a nearly $3.2 million project to overlay La. 182 from Main Street to La. 316, in Terrebonne Parish. The work will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 5 and is estimated for completion in spring 2016.

Contractor Barriere Construction Co., LLC will perform asphalt patching, cold planing and asphalt overlay on approximately 3.8 miles of La. 182, from La. 24 in downtown Houma, going through La. 660 and ending at La. 316. (See attached map) There will be no lane restrictions during peak hours, 6-9 a.m. and 3-6 p.m. No detours will be required and drivers should adhere to any directional signage associated with the project.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the area and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near the work zone.
