Vernon Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises the public that due to the busy holiday season, work will be suspended on the U.S. 171 project in Leesville until Sunday, January 3, 2016. The contractor will resume work on Monday, January 4, 2016. All north and southbound lanes will remain open to traffic until Monday, January 4th. Construction work is expected to be completed in April 2016.
Permit/Detour section
There will be no restrictions for vehicles from December 21, 2015 to January 3, 2016 in the north and southbound lanes from La. 8/ La. 28 to Bonne Street on U.S. 171 in Leesville.
On Monday, January 4th, U.S. 171 will be reduced to one lane, in the southbound direction, from McFarland Street to Boone Street. There will be no restrictions for passenger vehicles, but there is a 10’ wide lane width restriction for all oversize vehicles.
