The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that starting on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, there will be lane closures on I-49 Southbound Lanes starting at the Desoto Parish Line and continuing to 1.1 miles south of LA 485 for milling and asphalt paving operations. One lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Weather conditions may cause some delay with the actual start date of the work in the Southbound lanes

The scope of work includes Cold planing Asphaltic Concrete Pavement, Pavement Patching Superpave Asphaltic Concrete Pavement, SMA Wearing Course, Striping, Guardrail and Related Work. This project was bid on 03/11/2015 and the contract was awarded to Gilchrist Construction CO, LLC for the amount of $9,149,596.05. There are 175 calendar days allowed for this project.

Permit/Detour section
Local traffic will be maintained at all times but there will be periodic lane closures and delays associated with this work on the main road. Permitted loads will not be affected.
