NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces intermittent lane closures on Interstate 10 in Orleans Parish, this weekend. Entergy will be performing work on transmission lines crossing I-10 at South Genois and South Telemachus streets on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 14-15, from 6-10 a.m., each day.

During the affected time frame, work on the lines will require two closures (lasting up to 15 minutes) in both directions of I-10 at the Carrollton/Tulane Interchange (Riverside) near the campus of Xavier University of Louisiana.

• Police will stop I-10 traffic in both directions.
• Message boards will alert motorists to the closure.
• Traffic controls will be in place at on-ramps.

Motorists should expect delays and plan routes accordingly. More detailed information about the project and closure can be found on the Entergy website.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to drive with caution through this and other highway work zones. Also, be alert for the presence of construction workers and equipment.
