To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, DOTD is releasing a series of short videos featuring employees who were on the ground and worked tirelessly on recovery efforts. Some of those same people continue to help Louisiana move forward today.
This first video focuses on Planning and Evacuation.

Ten years ago Hurricane Katrina made landfall and devastated the Gulf Coast. Southeast Louisiana was hit hard, especially New Orleans, where 80 percent of the city flooded and more than 100,000 homes were lost. DOTD was there to help Louisiana residents evacuate, rebuild and recover. There were many lessons learned and those lessons help make DOTD a better, stronger department today.
