LA 70 Sunshine Bridge Lane Shift, St. James Parish

Concrete barriers are being placed along the centerline on LA 70 at the Sunshine Bridge in the East bound direction in preparation for shifting traffic. The expected date for shifting the East bound traffic into one East bound lane is Saturday, August 8, but may vary by a day or two depending on the installation of barriers.
Traffic in each direction will remain one lane for the next several months, although the lane will be shifted from the inside lane to the outside lane depending on the work needs.
Further notices will be released prior to any lane shift.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
