The Houma Navigation Canal Bridge crossing the Houma Navigation Canal on LA 661 in Houma, LA will continue to reopen to vehicular traffic on June 29th thru July 10th, during the week day, but will be closed in accordance with the schedule shown below:
• Closed nightly from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM Monday June 29, 2015 thru Friday July 3, 2015
• Closed continuously from 6:00 PM Friday July 3, 2015 thru 6:30 AM Monday July 6, 2015.
• Closed nightly from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM Monday July 6, 2015 thru Friday July 10, 2015
• Closed continuously from 6:00 PM Friday July 10, 2015 thru 6:30 AM Monday July 13, 2015.
These closure(s) to vehicular traffic are needed in order to allow LADOTD’s contractor to perform structural, mechanical, and electrical work as part of a multi-million dollar rehabilitation project.
Alternate routes available around the Houma Navigation Canal bridge closure(s) are as follows:
LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 57 (Grand Caillou Road) to LA 3040 (Tunnel Blvd.) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 24 (Twin Span Bridge) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
