The Houma Navigation Canal Bridge crossing the Houma Navigation Canal on LA 661 in Houma, LA will open today, June 10, 2015, at 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. The previously scheduled closures will resume. The bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic nightly and on weekends and will be open to vehicular traffic from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays.
These closure(s) to vehicular traffic are needed in order to allow LADOTD’s contractor to perform structural, mechanical, and electrical work as part of a multi-million dollar rehabilitation project.
Alternate routes available around the Houma Navigation Canal bridge closure(s) are as follows:
LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 57 (Grand Caillou Road) to LA 3040 (Tunnel Blvd.) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 24 (Twin Span Bridge) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
