DOTD announces lane and ramp closures for I-10 repairs project in St. Tammany Parish

SLIDELL, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces alternating lane and ramp closures for a $40 million repair project on Interstate 10 from French Branch Bridge to the West Pearl River Bridge, in St. Tammany Parish, this weekend.

Beginning Friday, May 29, 2015, through Monday, June 1, 2015, there will be alternating closures of the inside (left) and outside (right) lane s of the I-10, I-12, and I-59 interstates while crews remove and replace the roadway at the following locations:

• I-10 eastbound between the French Branch Bridge (Mile Post 267.14) (just north of Gause Blvd.) and the West Pearl River Bridge (Mile Post 269.81) (near the I-10/Slidell Welcome Center) from 6 p.m. Friday, May 29 to 10 a.m., Monday, June 1. All lanes will re-open Monday at 10 a.m.
• I-10 westbound between the French Branch Bridge (Mile Post 267.14) (just north of Gause Blvd.) and the West Pearl River Bridge (Mile Post 269.81) (near the I-10/Slidell Welcome Center) from 6 p.m. Friday, May 29, to 2 p.m. Monday, June 1. All lanes will re-open Monday at 2 p.m.
• I-12 eastbound between the I-59 overpass (Mile Post 85.54) and I-10 merge (Mile Post 86.28) from 5 p.m. Friday, May 29, to 11 a.m. Monday, June 1. All lanes will re-open Monday at11 a.m.

One lane of traffic will remain open at all times. No restrictions are in place for oversized loads.

Motorists should expect delays and plan routes accordingly. Those wanting to utilize U.S. 90 as a detour should be aware that there are load restrictions on the Pearl River Bridges which only allow for passenger vehicles. No larger truck traffic will be allowed.

The planned construction activities are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. All work is expected to be completed by late spring or early summer 2016.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to drive with caution through this and other highway work zones. Also, be alert for the presence of construction workers and equipment.
