The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Monday, May 18th, 2015, weather permitting, construction will begin on LA 477 in Winn Parish. This work will begin at the end of State maintenance west of the intersection of US 71 and LA 477 and proceed east for 7.72 MI to the intersection of LA 477 and US 84.
The intent of this project is to cut 8.5” of soil cement, 12” of subgrade treatment in select locations, a two lift chip seal, and then overlay the roadway with 3.5” inches of Superpave Asphaltic Concrete. Associate work includes replacing several cross drain pipes and pipe extensions, placing aggregate surface course shoulders, pavement striping, and replacing existing mailboxes.
The contractor will be required to maintain thru traffic at all times, but periodic lane closures and delays can be expected. The public is advised to remain alert to construction signs and changing roadway conditions.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, Madden Contracting Co., LLC in the amount of $3,775,923.27. The work associated with this project should take approximately 110 working days to complete.
Permit/Detour section
Thru traffic will be maintained so there will be no detour routes for this project or width restrictions.
