The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that LA 500 in Georgetown, Grant Parish, will be closed at the Union Pacific Railroad track. The work is being done on LA 500 approximately 0.01 miles west of the intersection of LA 500 and LA 502 in Georgetown. There will be intermittent closures on LA 500 starting on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 and ending on Friday, March 27, 2015. Union Pacific Railroad will be adjusting the crossing.
Permit/Detour section
The roadway will be closed completely to all traffic during this time. The detour will be LA 500 to US 165 to LA 502 to LA 500. The detour can accept oversized loads. The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public. All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.
