The West Larose Vertical Lift Bridge on LA 1 crossing the Intracoastal Canal Waterway in Larose, LA will be reduced to one (1) travel lane for north and southbound traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday March 14, 2015. The flow of north and southbound traffic through the work zone will be controlled by flaggers stationed at each end of the bridge. The closure is needed in order to allow LADOTD to perform inspection work on the substructure of the bridge. Outside of the aforementioned closure time, the bridge will be under normal operation.
Alternate route(s) around the work zone, during lane closure time are as follows:
Northbound: LA 1 across the New Larose Vertical Lift Bridge to LA 308 north
Southbound: LA 1 across the Belle Vue Swing Bridge (LA 3220) south of Lockport or the T-Bois Vertical Lift Bridge just north of Larose to LA 308 south.
