**UPDATE**
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises the public that the Richard Thompson/LA 8 Bridge over the Red River, Boyce Bridge, WILL BE REOPENED TODAY AT 1:30P.M.

HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITION ADVISORY DUE TO POSSIBLE SNOW AND ICE
The Department of Transportation and Development District 08 Office in Alexandria advises that the Richard Thompson/LA 8 Bridge over the Red River [Boyce Bridge], is NOW CLOSED, effective 9:00 a.m. March 5, 2015.
DOTD urges motorists to continue to use extra caution when traveling on roadways. Motorists should drive slowly and carefully, and avoid driving while distracted. As always, DOTD reminds motorists to buckle up and refrain from drinking and driving.
Make an effort to be aware of your surroundings and be watchful of DOTD personnel and equipment dispensing deicing/anti-icing material.

Citizens can also get the latest updates on real-time traffic and road conditions by using the 511 Traveler Information System simply by dialing 511 or visiting www.511la.org.
