SPN H.010618: LA 433 (Bayou Bonfouca Swing Bridge Permanent Repairs)
February 2, 2015
There will be a full road closure of LA 433 (Bayou Liberty Road) at the Bayou Bonfouca Bridge (Milepoint 8.5) beginning on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 7:00 a.m. and continuing until Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. while construction crews perform bridge maintenance and repairs (weather permitting).
Similar closures are also scheduled for the following dates (weather permitting) while construction crews continue with bridge maintenance and repair activities of the bridge:
• Monday, February 16th at 7:00 a.m. through Wednesday, February 18th at 5:00 p.m.
• Monday, February 23rd at 7:00 a.m. through Thursday, February 26th at 5:00 p.m.
• Thursday, March 5th at 7:00 a.m. through Friday, March 6th at 5:00 p.m.
Intermittent closures should be also be expected daily for bridge openings between 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. to allow for marine traffic to pass.
Dates and times are subject to change due to weather conditions, work activities and unforeseen circumstances. When necessary, updates and/or changes will be posted as soon as possible.
Permit/Detour Section
To avoid bridge/roadway closures, motorists travelling Eastbound on LA 433 should detour to US 190, East on US 190 to US 11, south on US 11 to LA 433.
Westbound motorists should detour to US 11, North on US 11 to US 190, West on US 190 to LA 433.
LA 433 (Bayou Liberty Road) between US 190 and Bayou Bonfouca will be open for local traffic only.
