Wednesday, December 05, 2012 at 11:36:00 AM

WHAT:  The public meeting will present alternatives for roadway and capacity improvements at the intersection of La. 531 and I-20.

WHEN:  Thursday, December 6th from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

WHERE:  Minden Civic Center located at 520 Broadway Street, 71055 Minden, LA.

WHO:  DOTD representatives will be present to provide information and answer questions.

MORE INFO: The proposed project is located along the La. 531 corridor in Minden, from the Industrial Drive/I-20 Service Road to Jimmy Baton Road/Taylor Road in Webster Parish. The existing roadway is currently comprised of four lanes divided with a median from Industrial Drive/I-20 Service Road to the I-20 eastbound ramps. The public meeting will present several design alternatives that will widen portions of the existing roadway to increase capacity near the interchange ramps. This project is currently in the environmental assessment phase.  The next phase is design, which is estimated to complete in the fall 2015.  DOTD estimates work on the project could begin in 2016.

The meeting will allow the public to learn more about the project and to sign-up to receive periodic e-mail updates on the project’s progression.
