The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on November 19th, 2014 traffic will be diverted onto two detour bridges over Iatt and Redland Creeks on LA 34 near Atlanta in Winn Parish. This project begins at the intersection of LA 34 and LA 471 and proceeds 0.75 miles east along LA 34.
The intent of this project is to replace two timber bridges with reinforced concrete bridges and resurface the roadway approaching the bridges and the roadway between the two bridge sites. On Wednesday November 19th, 2014 the old bridges will be closed and traffic will be diverted onto newly constructed detour bridges while construction of the new concrete bridges begins at those sites.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, W.E. McDonald and Son, LLC. in the amount of $3,097,140.29. The work associated with this project should take approximately 245 working days to complete.
Permit/Detour section
Thru traffic will be maintained so there will be no detour routes for this project or width restrictions.
