NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the Des Allemands Bridge in St. Charles Parish will be reopened to vehicular traffic later this evening following the completion of a shoreline protection project.

The bridge was in the open position (meaning closed to vehicular traffic) during a project headed by St. John the Baptist Parish, which added 5,500 linear feet of shoreline protection at West Lac Des Allemands and reinforced the shoreline between Pleasure Bend and Pointe Aux Herbes.
