LA 23 (Belle Chasse Bridge), Plaquemines Parish, SP H.009933

On Saturday, October 11, 2014 beginning at 5:00AM, the Belle Chasse Bridge (LA 23) will be closed to traffic both north and southbound. The Belle Chasse Tunnel will be allowing two-way traffic while repair work occurs on the bridge. The closure will last until Sunday, October 12, 2014 @ 6:00PM.
During the closure period, the following vehicles will be prohibited from entering the Belle Chasse Tunnel:
•?Dump trucks and any truck that is larger
•?Pick-Up trucks with any type of trailer, including boats and motor homes
All other motor vehicle traffic will be allowed in the tunnel. Law enforcement officials will be in the area monitoring and assisting with the flow of traffic.
Prohibited vehicles can detour the area via the following routes:
•?From New Orleans: General De Gaulle Drive over the Intercoastal Canal Bridge to LA 406, to LA 23
•?From Plaquemines: LA 23 to LA 406 over the Intercoastal Canal Bridge to General De Gaulle Drive
