The Houma Navigation Canal Bridge crossing the Houma Navigation Canal on LA 661 in Houma, LA will be closed to vehicular traffic. The bridge shall be open to vehicular traffic to facilitate school and work transportation in accordance with the schedule shown below:

• Open: Monday, October 6, 2014 thru Friday, October 10, 2014 from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Open: Monday, October 13, 2014 thru Friday, October 17, 2014 from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Open: Monday, October 20, 2014 thru Friday, October 24, 2014 from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Continuous 24 hour closure starting Friday October 10, 2014 at 8:30 AM thru Sunday October 26, 2014 will be postponed to later date. Notice shall go out in advance of new closure dates.

These closure(s) to vehicular traffic are needed in order to allow LADOTD’s contractor to perform structural, mechanical, and electrical work as part of a multi-million dollar rehabilitation project.

Alternate routes available around the Houma Navigation Canal bridge closure(s) are as follows:

LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 57 (Grand Caillou Road) to LA 3040 (Tunnel Blvd.) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.

LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 24 (Twin Span Bridge) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
