The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that on October 7, 2014 the outside southbound lane on LA 1 will be closed to allow the contractor to construct the southbound widening. This lane closure will be from 0.25 miles south of LA 115 to 0.1 miles south of LA 452 intersection. In this section of roadway, traffic will be shifted to the east allowing for two northbound lanes and one southbound lane.
Permit/Detour Section
Motorists are advised that in addition to the lane closure on LA 1, the traffic light at the intersection of LA 1 and LA 452 will be temporarily removed. With the removal of this traffic light, all left turns onto LA 452 will be prohibited to assist with the traffic flow. Southbound traffic will turn left on LA 1189 0.1 of a mile before LA 452. Delays can be expected.
The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public.
