EMERGENCY CLOSURE

Due to unexpected construction issues, the Houma Navigation Canal Bridge crossing the Houma Navigation Canal on LA 661 in Houma, LA will be closed to vehicular traffic in accordance with the schedule shown below:
• Continuous 24 hour closure starting Wednesday, July 23, 2014 thru Sunday, August 3, 2014. The bridge will reopen at 4:00 AM on August 4, 2014.
These closure(s) to vehicular traffic are needed in order to allow LADOTD’s contractor to perform structural, mechanical, and electrical work as part of a multi-million dollar rehabilitation project.
Alternate routes available around the Houma Navigation Canal bridge closure(s) are as follows:
LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 57 (Grand Caillou Road) to LA 3040 (Tunnel Blvd.) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 24 (Twin Span Bridge) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
