In addition to the 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM weekday and 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM weekend closures starting on July 21, 2014 thru August 3, 2014, the Houma Navigation Canal Bridge crossing the Houma Navigation Canal on LA 661 in Houma, LA will be closed to vehicular traffic in accordance with the schedule shown below:
• Nightly closures starting Monday, July 21, 2014 thru Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM the following morning.
These closure(s) to vehicular traffic are needed in order to allow LADOTD’s contractor to perform structural, mechanical, and electrical work as part of a multi-million dollar rehabilitation project.
Alternate routes available around the Houma Navigation Canal bridge closure(s) are as follows:
LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 57 (Grand Caillou Road) to LA 3040 (Tunnel Blvd.) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 24 (Twin Span Bridge) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
