The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that beginning Wednesday July 9, 2014 at 7:00 AM, weather permitting, construction work will begin on the northbound lanes of I-49 from LA 181 to LA 498 in Rapides Parish. Lane closures will start in the right lane near Exit 66 and will extend to Mile Marker 71 although alternating temporary lane closures can be expected throughout the life of the project.  Subsequent press releases will follow to inform the public of additional closures.

Permit/Detour section
Local and through traffic will be maintained at all times. Therefore, there are no designated detours at this time. There are also no width restrictions associated with this lane closure.
