The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that, weather permitting, work will begin on the LA 1217 Asphaltic Concrete Overlay Project on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 and will continue for approximately (4) four months. The contractor intends to begin patching of the existing roadway with other items of work to follow. This asphaltic concrete overlay, pavement patching and base stabilization project is located on LA 1217 and begins at its intersection with LA 6 and ends 400’ north of Patton Road. This 5.318 mile long project will receive drainage structures, cold planing, base course, asphaltic concrete overlay and related work.

The project was awarded to the low bidder, W.E McDonald & Sons, LLC in the amount of $2,554,187.20.

Permit/Detour section
There will be no restrictions for passenger vehicles and a 12’ wide lane width restriction for all oversize vehicles. The roadway will be reduced to one lane during construction. The roadway will be open to traffic at all times. Unpaved surface conditions will exist during base course work.
