The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that, weather permitting, work will begin on the LA 8 Asphaltic Concrete Overlay Project on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 and will continue for approximately (2) two months. The contractor intends to begin patching of the existing roadway with other items of work to follow. This asphaltic concrete overlay project is located on LA 8 from approximately 170’ west of its intersection with LA 465 to 775’ west of the Rapides Parish line. This 7.475 mile long project will receive a thin asphaltic concrete overlay and related work.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, Diamond B Construction Co, LLC in the amount of $671,580.39.
Permit/Detour section
There will be no restrictions for passenger vehicles and a 12’ wide lane width restriction for all oversize vehicles. The roadway will be reduced to one lane during construction. The roadway will be open to traffic at all times.
