Chalmette Ferry Closure

DOTD announces temporary suspension of Chalmette Ferry due to emergency repair

New Orleans – The Department of Transportation and Development’s (DOTD) Crescent City Connection Division (CCCD) has temporarily suspended service to the Lower Algiers/Chalmette ferry route for emergency repair. The Motor Vessel Levy lost power earlier this afternoon.

CCCD maintenance personnel is currently working to return the boat back to service by Wednesday morning. In the event repairs are completed sooner, DOTD will advise the motoring public.
