The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that weather permitting, on Wednesday May 14th 2014 work will begin on the Atchafalaya River Bridge at Simmesport.
This project consist of sand blasting to remove all existing paint to a near white finish and apply a three coat paint system while in full containment.
This contract was awarded to the low bidder, Hercules Painting Co., Inc., in the amount of $10,930,000.00.
Permit/Detour Section
No detour is needed as one lane will be open at all times. When traveling this route expect delays.
Between October 1, 2014 and January 31, 2015, the contractor shall maintain the highway in a condition suitable for large scale sugar cane hauling operations.
