The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that on Monday, May 12, 2014 construction will begin on LA 1177 at the Avoyelles/Rapides line south of its junction with US 71 in Rapides parish.
The intent of this project is to remove the existing one lane steel truss span bridge and replace it with a two lane 4 span Quad beam girder bridge.
This contract was awarded to the low bidder, JB James Construction, LLC in the amount of $1,193,927.17.
Permit/Detour Section
The roadway will be closed completely to all traffic during this time. The detour route is as stated:
Northbound traffic is to proceed south on LA 1177 to the intersection of US 71, travel north on US 71 to LA 1177.
Southbound traffic is to travel north on LA 1177 to the intersection of US 71, proceed south on US 71 to LA 1177.
The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public. All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.
