LA 53 St. John Parish Canadian National Railroad Work

Both directions of LA 53 (Central Avenue) will be closed beginning Wednesday morning April 30, 2014 at 6:00 AM until Saturday morning, May 3, 2014 at 6:00 AM while crews remove the old railroad tracks and place new railroad tracks and new asphalt. The closure is approximately one mile south of the intersection of US 61 and LA 53 at the southern railroad track crossing on LA 53 in Reserve.
Permit/Detour Section
Westbound vehicles on US 61 may stay straight on US 61, then turn left on LA 637 to travel south, and then left on LA 44 to travel east to LA 53. Eastbound vehicles on US 61 may turn right on LA 637 to travel south, and then turn left onto LA 44 to travel east to LA 53. Westbound vehicles on LA 44 may stay straight on LA 44, then turn right on LA 637 to travel north, and then turn right onto US 61 to travel east to LA 53. Eastbound vehicles on LA 44 may turn left on LA 637 to go north, and then turn right on US 61 to travel east to LA 53. Detour signs will be posted to mark the route.
