The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises that, weather permitting, on Thursday, April 17, 2014 road construction work will begin on LA 121 at various drainage structures sites along LA 121 in Vernon Parish. The length of the project from the first bridge construction site to the end of the last bridge construction site is approximately 15 miles. However, the actual individual construction work zones total 3.068 miles in length.

This bridge replacement and road construction project will receive clearing and grubbing, drainage structures, base course, lime treatment, superpave asphaltic concrete pavement, concrete slab span bridges, and related work. The project was awarded to the low bidder, James Construction Group, LLC, in the amount of $12,668,430.71.

Permit/Detour section
There will be no restrictions for passenger vehicles and a 12’ wide width restriction for all oversize vehicles. The roadway will be reduced to one lane during construction. The roadway will be open to traffic at all times. The 12’ wide width restriction will be on LA 121 in Vernon Parish from the intersection of LA 8 to the Rapides Parish Line.
