MANDEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces an update on the project to widen U.S. Highway 190 from La. 22 to Lonesome Road in St. Tammany Parish, an $11.3 million capacity improvement project.

Crews are currently working on the concrete curb and gutter at Cherry Creek and Lonesome Road. Next week, the contractor will perform curb and gutter work from Lonesome to the driveway of the Pelican Athletics Club and continue pouring concrete for the retaining wall at Cherry Creek. Crews will begin areas of paving next week as well.

Over the past two weeks, work performed includes the following.

• Meadowbrook Boulevard drainage structures, embankment and roadway base (complete)
• Roadway base from westbound bridge to Meadowbrook (nearly complete)

There will be a continuation of the lane closure/reconfiguration of Meadowbrook Blvd. at the intersection of U.S. 190 this Friday, March 28, through Tuesday, April 1, while crews install concrete paving for the new intersection at U.S. 190. This work requires traffic to be shifted from the northern exit of Meadowbrook and utilize both of the southern remaining lanes for two-way traffic. During this time, the traffic signals at Meadowbrook and St. Ann Street will remain reconfigured to accommodate the new traffic patterns. Additionally, there will be alternating/intermittent lane closures of Meadowbrook at the intersection of U.S. 190 on Monday, March 31, through Tuesday, April 1, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., as crews remove and install new paving near Meadowbrook.

All planned construction activities are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction zone and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
