US 167- Grant Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on March 28th, 2014 at 9:00 AM traffic will be moved onto the newly construction section of US 167 in Dry Prong. Motorist are advised to expect significant delays while traffic is being swapped. Once traffic has
been swapped, please take notice of all stop sign locations for streets that intersect US 167, as stop signs will have been relocated to allow for the opening of the newly constructed area.

The intent of this project is to widen US 167 to 5 lanes through the town of Dry Prong, and to tie into the existing divided 4-lane sections north and south of Dry Prong. This project also includes construction of a new bridge, clearing and grubbing, installing drainage structures, and related work.

The project was awarded to the low bidder, JB James Construction LLC, in the amount of $9,798,290.28. The work associated with this project should take approximately 365 calendar days to complete.

Thru traffic will be maintained but expect significant delays at approximately 9:00AM.
