US 190: LA 22-Lonesome Road Widening – State Project No. H.000498

MANDEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces an update on the project to widen U.S. Highway 190 from La. 22 to Lonesome Road in St. Tammany Parish, an $11.3 million capacity improvement project.

Due to recent inclement weather, contractor progress has been reduced. Crews are currently working on the retaining wall along Cherry Creek and laying pipe near the Meadowbrook Boulevard intersection. To date, 7700 feet of drainage pipe has been laid for the project.

An additional drainage crew mobilized to the project this week to begin installation of culverts along Meadowbrook to accommodate the additional turn lane that is being installed. Crews continue working on the retaining wall and its foundation.

Over the past two weeks, work performed includes the following.

• Retaining wall at Cherry Creek had one (1) 90-foot section of foundation installed.
• Crews worked to transport and place the roadway base material for the asphalt roadway near Pelican Athletic Club Drive.

A planned lane closure/reconfiguration of Meadowbrook Blvd. at the intersection of U.S. 190 will continue through Friday, March 21, while crews continue to install drainage structures and base course material for the new intersection at U.S. 190. This work requires traffic to be shifted from the northern exit of Meadowbrook and utilize both of the southern remaining lanes for two-way traffic. During this time, the traffic signals at Meadowbrook and St. Ann Street will continue to be reconfigured to accommodate the new traffic patterns.

All planned construction activities are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction zone and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
