DOTD continues work to replace pavement markers

BATON ROUGE –The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will continue work to replace raised pavement markers damaged due to recent winter weather conditions. During the work, there will be alternating lane closures at three locations on Saturday, February 15, and Sunday, February 16, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Raised pavement markers are an important safety feature which allow motorists better visibility at night or in inclement weather. The markers must be attached to the roadways in low humidity with temperatures above 50 degrees.
The affected areas will be both directions of:
• The westbound approach of the Mississippi River Bridge to the I-10/I-110 split in East Baton Rouge Parish
• La. 415 overpass between Kahns Road and Lafiton Lane in West Baton Rouge Parish
• Grosse Tete overpass over I-10 in Iberville Parish
DOTD advises motorists of possible traffic delays during this time. In addition, permit loads will not be restricted.

Out-of-state travelers can call 1-888-ROAD-511 (1-888-762-3511). Travelers can also access this information by visiting the 511 Traveler Information Web site at www.511la.org.
Additionally, motorists can utilize the new "Way to Geaux" application to receive real-time, around the clock travel alerts. The hands-free, eyes-free smartphone application can be downloaded on any iPhone or Android device by visiting either the iTunes App Store, or Google Play.
