DOTD announces results of April 28 bid letting

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $25 million at its April 28 public bid opening, according to Gov. Bobby Jindal and DOTD Interim Secretary Sherri H. LeBas, P.E.

With a bid of $14,733,829.68, Gilchrist Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, was the low bidder on the most expensive job let April 28, a project in Ouachita Parish calling for asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on I-20 from Texas Avenue to just east of Garrett Road.

Other projects awarded are listed below by parish(es), description, contractor and bid:

Allen – Clearing and grubbing, asphalt overlay, installing a concrete slab span bridge and related work to replace the North Carpenter Road Bridge, Guinn Brothers LLC, Jennings, $297,998.50.

Concordia – Pavement patching and related work on La. 131 from Gillespie Street to U.S. 425, Forby Contracting Inc., Hinckley, Minn., $94,400.50.

East Carroll – Clearing and grubbing, installing drainage pipe, installing a concrete slab span bridge and related work to replace the Goat Road Bridge over Bull Bayou, Louisiana Bridge Inc., Farmerville, $307,286.70.

East Feliciana – Installing concrete box culverts and related work to replace the Cheathams Run/Devalcourt Road Bridge, RCS Contractors Inc., Port Allen, $146,241.89.

Evangeline, St. Landry – Asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on U.S. 190 from the Acadia Parish line to 1 mile east of the Evangeline Parish line, Prairie Contractors Inc., Opelousas, $6,429,359.91.

Franklin – Sealing pavement cracks and related work on U.S. 425 from La. 3201 to La. 4, Forby Contracting Inc., Hinckley, Minn., $52,500.

Natchitoches, Rapides – Replacing pavement markings and related work on I-49 from 0.1 mile south of La. 1 to the Natchitoches Parish line, and on I-49 from the Rapides Parish line to 0.1 mile south of La. 485, Apeck Construction Inc., Anacoco, $73,038.

Orleans – Installing fencing, landscaping and related work along I-10 from Paris Road to Morrison Road, Integrated Pro Services LLC, New Orleans, $1,544,308.

Orleans – Installing drainage pipe, building an asphalt parking area, installing lighting, landscaping and related work at Tri-Centennial Place at the intersection of Dreyfous Avenue and Victory Avenue, Durr Heavy Construction LLC, Covington, $1,087,742.46.

St. Helena – Sealing asphalt pavement and related work on La. 1046 from La. 441 to La. 1047, T.L Wallace Construction Inc., Columbia, Miss., $93,736.05.

St. Tammany – Sealing asphalt pavement and related work on La. 1077 from La. 25 to La. 1078, T.L. Wallace Construction Inc., Columbia, Miss., $107,022.55.

Tangipahoa – Sealing asphalt pavement and related work on La. 1054 from U.S. 51 to La. 1055, T.L. Wallace Construction Inc., Columbia, Miss., $104,154.40.

Vermilion – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay and related work to replace the Dennis Road Bridge and the Bluebonnet Road Bridge, RCS Contractors Inc., Port Allen, $411,494.16.

Washington – Landscaping and related work along La. 21 from the St. Tammany Parish line to 0.5 miles south of Rosa Pearl Lane, Rotolo Consultants Inc., Slidell, $251,317.75.
