Prospect Bridge Replacement project update
Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 7:54:33 AM

Good Morning,

We started the Prospect Bridge Replacement project yesterday. Our contractor began to dismantle the bridge and a second crew starting road and drainage work along Main Street

We have crews setting up the test pile and another is maintaining traffic control devices.

The contractor actually started setting up traffic control at 3:00 am and had the bridge completely closed by 7:00 a.m.  Our project engineer, Chris Rogers, was onsite a little after 8:00 a.m. to monitor the traffic situation.

The Houma Police Department was on hand at the Presquille and Howard Bridges around 4:30 p.m. yesterday to monitor traffic as well.

As we go through the project, please do not hesitate to contact DOTD with questions or concerns. We will keep you updated on the progress of the bridge as we reach milestones.
