BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $43 million at its May 20 and May 27 public bid openings, according to Gov. Bobby Jindal and DOTD Secretary William D. Ankner, Ph.D.

With a bid of $9,509,610.70, Barriere Construction Co. LLC, Boutte, was the apparent low bidder on the most expensive job let May 20 and May 27, a project in Orleans Parish calling for asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on Franklin Avenue from I-610 to La. 46; on Downman Road from Hayne Boulevard to U.S. 90; on Almonaster Avenue from Jourdan Road to Read Boulevard; and on Alvar Street/Poland Avenue from St. Claude Avenue to Florida Avenue.
