DOTD announces results of June 30 bid letting

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $58 million at its June 30 public bid opening, according to Gov. Bobby Jindal and DOTD Secretary William D. Ankner, Ph.D.

With a bid of $41,077,892.80, Southern Industrial Contractors LLC, Rayville, was the low bidder on the most expensive job let June 30, a project in Caddo Parish calling for installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, concrete overlay, installing concrete slab span bridges and related work on I-49 North from U.S. 71 to La. 2.

Other projects awarded are listed below by parish(es), description, contractor and bid:

Caddo – Concrete overlay and related work to build turn lanes on La. 526 at Linwood Avenue, Blount Bros. Construction Inc., Shreveport, $429,311.40.

Jefferson – Asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on La. 48 from the east end of the Clearview overpass to Williams Boulevard, Barriere Construction Co. LLC, Boutte, $4,949,982.25.

Madison – Installing drainage pipe, concrete overlay, new building construction, landscaping and related work at the I-20 rest area at Mound, Quality Design & Construction Inc., Wakefield, $1,472,800.

Orleans – Asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on U.S. 90 from North Broad Street to the west end of the Inner Harbor Bridge, Barriere Construction Co. LLC, Boutte, $3,456,039.30.

Tangipahoa – Concrete sidewalks and related work along La. 22 from South Fifth Street to Ford Street, Three C’s Properties Inc., Robert, $174,968.13.

Tangipahoa – Installing lighting and related work at the I-12/La. 3158 interchange, Diamond Electrical Co. Inc., Baton Rouge, $457,862.50.

Terrebonne – Concrete sidewalks and related work along La. 3040 from Lafayette Street to Columbus Street, Plus Concrete Inc., New Haven, Mich., $146,946.

Vermilion – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, sealing asphalt pavement and related work on La. 699 from La. 343 to U.S. 167, H & S Construction Co. Inc., Broussard, $3,169,880.61.

Webster – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on U.S. 371 from La. 157 to the Arkansas state line, Benton & Brown LLC, Minden, $3,230,057.60.
