DOTD announces results of April 22 bid letting

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $45 million at its April 22 public bid opening, according to Gov. Bobby Jindal and DOTD Secretary William D. Ankner, Ph.D.

With a bid of $6,767.134, Boh Bros. Construction Co. LLC, New Orleans, was the apparent low bidder on the most expensive job let April 22, a project in Orleans Parish calling for electrical and mechanical system repairs, installing wire ropes, replacing the bridge decking and related work on the Judge Seeber Bridge on La. 39.

Other projects by parish(es), description, apparent low bidder and bid are as follows:

Caddo – Replacing raised pavement markers, pavement striping and related work on La. 3132 from I-20 to 0.47 miles west of La. 526, Highway Technologies Inc., Baton Rouge, $255,900.

Evangeline – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay and related work to replace bridges on Red Fox Lane and First Street, W.L. Bass Construction Inc., Ruston, $494,209.

Jefferson – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay and related work to widen La. 18 from two to four lanes from River Road to U.S. 90, Barriere Construction Co. LLC, Belle Chasse, $4,913,222.95.

Lafourche – Installing drainage pipe, pavement widening and related work to widen the shoulders along La. 308 from Jackson Street to Tiger Drive, Phylway Construction LLC, Thibodeaux, $397,735.

Orleans – Asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on Harrison Avenue from West End Boulevard to the Orleans Canal, and on Harrison Avenue from Marconi Drive to Wisner Boulevard, Barriere Construction Co. LLC, Boutte, $4,297,790.09.

Orleans – Asphalt overlay, concrete overlay, landscaping, installing a concrete slab span bridge and related work to replace the Park Island Bridge over Bayou St. John, Cycle Construction Co. LLC, Kenner, $1,988,131.60.

Orleans, St. Tammany – Removing temporary bridge panels from the existing I-10 Twin Span Bridge, Boh Bros. Construction Co. LLC, New Orleans, $3,881,467.28.

Rapides – Clearing and grubbing, installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay and related work on La. 1203 from the Missouri Pacific Railroad crossing to New Light Church Road, Progressive Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, $551,411.87.

St. Martin – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, installing a concrete girder span bridge and related work to replace the Refinery Road Bridge over Bayou Teche, Gilchrist Construction Co. LLC, Alexandria, $1,715,502.90.

Tangipahoa – Clearing and grubbing, asphalt overlay, installing concrete slab span bridges and related work to replace bridges on J.W. Davis Road and Little Italy Road, Key Constructors Inc., Madison, Miss., $1,426,691.30.
