DOTD announces results of March 18 bid letting

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $85 million at its March 18 public bid opening, according to Gov. Bobby Jindal and DOTD Secretary William D. Ankner, Ph.D.

With a bid of $31,126,131, Austin Bridge & Road LP, Irving, Texas, was the apparent low bidder on the most expensive job let March 18, a project in Caddo Parish calling for installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, concrete girder span bridge and related work on I-49 North from Mira-Myrtis Road to La. 168.

Acadia – Installing lighting and related work at the I-10/La. 1111 interchange, Ernest P. Breaux Electrical Inc., New Iberia, $586,272.50.

Avoyelles, Evangeline, Natchitoches, Rapides – Replacing raised pavement markers and related work on I-49 from the southern Avoyelles Parish line to the northern Natchitoches Parish line, Highway Graphics Inc., West Monroe, $347,574.

Bossier, Caddo – Replacing raised pavement markers and related work on I-49 from the DeSoto Parish line to Murphy Street, and on I-20 from the Industrial Drive overpass to 2.5 miles west of La. 614, Southern Synergy LLC, Gonzales, $111,625.

Caddo – Structural steel repairs, repairing bridge approaches and related work on the Jimmie Davis Bridge on La. 511, Gibson & Associates Inc., Balch Springs, Texas, $538,075.60.

Calcasieu, Jefferson Davis – Replacing raised pavement markers and related work on I-10 from the Texas state line to the Acadia Parish line, Highway Technologies Inc., Baton Rouge, $66,000.

Cameron – Structural steel repairs, mechanical and electrical system repairs, and related work on the Mermentau River Bridge on La. 82, C.E.C. Inc., Lafayette, $3,891,939.30.

East Baton Rouge – Asphalt overlay, reinforced concrete box culverts and related work to replace the Chaney Road Bridge over Little Sandy Creek, W.L. Bass Construction Inc., Ruston, $189,353.

Grant, Rapides – Installing raised pavement markers, pavement striping, rumble strips and related work on various routes in Grant and Rapides parishes, Stars & Stripes Traffic Systems LLC, Alexandria, $1,976,900.80.

Jefferson – Asphalt overlay, pavement patching and related work on Lapalco Boulevard from the Murphy Canal Bridge to Brooklyn Avenue, Barriere Construction Co. LLC, Boutte, $1,540,799.90.

Lafourche – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, concrete slab span and vertical lift bridge, and related work to replace the Bayou Lafourche Bridge at Larose, James Construction Group LLC, Baton Rouge, $30,442,823.03.

Lincoln – Concrete sidewalks, decorative street lighting and related work along U.S. 167 from Park Avenue to Alabama Avenue, C W & W Contractors Inc., Sibley, $1,359,084.
