NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces the start of a $2.3 million project to overlay nearly two miles of eastbound La. 428 – also known as General de Gaulle Drive – from L.B. Landry Avenue to Holiday Drive. The project is designed to restore and preserve the existing roadway.

Next week, contractor Barriere Construction Co., LLC will begin roadway patching, which will be followed by roadway milling and the actual resurfacing. Related work will include striping, curb/gutter repair and replacement, and installation of ADA compliant handicap ramps. The project is slated for completion in summer 2014.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the work zone and be on the lookout for construction crews and their equipment.
