MANDEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces the start of an $8.7 million project to resurface nearly three miles of U.S. 190 in Mandeville, La. (St. Tammany Parish) from Interstate 12 to La. 22. The project, designed to improve operator efficiency and preserve the existing roadway, will add a northbound auxiliary lane between I-12 and Fairway Drive and Fairway Drive and La. 22, and a southbound auxiliary lane between I-12 and Fairway Drive.

Weather permitting, the contractor, Barriere Construction Co., LLC, will begin work tonight. During the nightly construction, eastbound motorists may take I-12 to La. 59, south on La. 59 to

U.S. 190 east. Westbound motorists may take La. 59 to I-12, west on I-12 to U.S. 190 west. One lane of traffic, in each direction, will remain open at all times. By law, oversized loads are not allowed to travel at night.
