New Orleans – On Sunday, February 3, 2013, hazardous cargo transportation will be restricted from 12 noon – 10:00 PM on I-10 through the City of New Orleans. Hazardous cargo will be redirected from I-10 West to I-610 West, I-10 East to I-610 East and will not be allowed to cross the Crescent City Connection Bridge. Alternate routes, such as US 90, US 61 and the Huey P. Long Bridge, will not be restricted.

Louisiana State Police and the Department of Public Safety Officers will be strictly enforcing the restrictions. The Department of Transportation and Development will be utilizing message boards to advise motorists of the hazardous cargo restrictions.
