Fort Buhlow Bridge And Approaches Project Update

Recent Activities:
Crews have been creating the diaphragm and deck on the bridge approaches. The crews inside of the Cofferdam are drilling and blasting to break up river bottom, and pumping water at high pressure into some tight areas to break up and loosen soil.

Along Northbound US 71/165 crews are installing underdrains on the roadway, and hauling and compacting the embankment. They are also installing reinforcing bar (rebar) steel for the northbound bridge approaches. They are continuing to fill in Lake Sam and dig out the embankment on old Graham Rd.

At the KCS RR Overpass crews are installing steel deck forms and reinforcing bar (rebar) steel and Ranger Environmental is continuing to haul off solid waste.

Recently Completed:
Crews finished pouring 301.8 cubic yards of concrete in the diaphragm and decks. They installed 160 feet of underdrains and completed the stone base course at the intersection on Rainbow Drive and bridge header for KCS RR Overpass. Ranger Environmental hauled off 78 loads of solid waste.
