Keep Louisiana Beautiful hosts its ninth annual state conference October 24-26 at the Sliman Theatre in New Iberia.  The event offers a variety of topics related to green living and its impact on community development, litter law enforcement trends, community building, and sustainability of community anti-litter programs.

This year’s presenters include keynote speaker Lt. General Russel Honore, Louisiana native who led Task Force Katrina.  General Honore will speak on leadership and volunteerism.  Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Secretary Robert Barham will address law enforcement’s engagement with litter prevention.

Other sessions cover youth programs, waterway cleanups by young people and other volunteers, and innovative and successful statewide projects and programs.

The conference concludes with the Keep Louisiana Beautiful awards luncheon recognizing  exemplary programs, organizations and individuals promoting and strengthening cleaner communities.
